That’s a big complaint I have with some mystery books, they build up suspense but don’t deliver on the surprise. ProsĮery and interesting, the plot builds in suspense throughout the entire book. The staff are odd and there are rumors of caves, fair folk, children disappearing, and strange pilgrims coming to the waters beneath the mountain to be healed. Mary of course realizes Kate’s sister isn’t clever enough to wittingly come up with a proper plan to undermine her, so she assumes it’s Kates fault.Īs a punishment she’s sent to the mysterious gard. ![]() Kate Sutton is sent to The Perilous Gard because her sister is an airhead and ends up offending Mary Bloody Mary. The Sherwood Ring is one of the few books that managed to surprise me with the plot and character development. Having read that first, my expectations for this book were incredibly high. ![]() The first book I read by her is The Sherwood Ring. Wow what to say! I love this author, I only wish she had written more. You don’t go around thinking ‘I love my eyes, I love my hands’, do you? But think what it would be like to live without your eyes or your hands. I always thought of you as a part of me, like my own eyes or my own hands. ![]()
