While at first he balks at taking care of the two kids – the request of his brother, who’s checked himself into rehab – he rises to the occasion, in fabulous, Broadway show tune-quoting, Guncle (i.e., Gay Uncle) style, and of course learns as much from them as they do from him. Patrick has had his share of tragedy himself, since he’s still grieving the death of his partner and has sequestered himself away from the L.A. ![]() A light, breezy and occasionally sentimental novel about Patrick O’Hara, a once-famous gay sitcom star who takes in his adorable niece and nephew (nine and six years old, respectively) one summer after their mother (formerly one of Patrick’s best friends before she married his brother) has died. ![]()
